New Legislation
Dangerous Substances & Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR)
This new legislation came into force on 30th June 2003 and includes regulations stating that if you use any substance that may create an explosive atmosphere in the workplace, then you must clearly mark all areas classified as dangerous with an Explosive Atmosphere Safety Sign at each point of entry.
You should note that explosive atmospheres could be generated not only from the fumes of substances such as petrol or solvents, but also from the creation of fine dust from activities such as sawing or milling.
Ensure that you comply with this new legislation - visit the Hazard Signs subcategory of Safety Signs in our online catalogue to purchase the required signage now.
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA)
The DDA Part III will come into effect on 1st October 2004. The strict new regulations contained within will mean that all organisations will have to ensure that their facilities do not discriminate in any way against the disabled and/or visually impaired.
